Having lived in this 1950s semi-detached house for ten year, the clients came in to do a bit of reconfiguration to meet the needs of their growing family. The extension features a bright open-plan space with large glazing areas that bring in ample sunlight. In addition to this, the asymmetrical gable roof over the extension also consists of roof lights that help bring in light even into the middle of the space. Extension to the side includes a playroom on the ground floor and a Master bedroom on the first floor. By combining clean design with a simple palette of materials, the extension not only blends well with the original structure but also provides a space that enhances everyday life.
